ST BALDRICK'S AND ROYAL SUBARU - THOMAS T
The St. Baldrick's foundation is a charitable organization that raises funds for pediatric cancer research. Through my business, THE RED JUG PUB, we have raised close to a half million dollars for this organization. This would not have been possible without the dedicated assistance from Royal Subaru. At significant cost, Royal Subaru included our head shaving event in their advertisements. Employees participated in and promoted our fund raising events. The dealership rallied behind this cause in a dramatic way. On top of the effort put forth to help make our fund raising successful, Royal Subaru made significant donations to the cause. In short, the St Baldrick's fund raising events would be pedestrian without the help from the folks at Royal. We are forever grateful!
Royal Subaru Shares Love with Renzi Cancer Center at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center - Sheila O
In June of 2024, Joe and Colby Reagan of Royal Subaru in Cortland, NY arrived at The Renzi Cancer Center at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. It seemed like a scene more suited for Christmas time. Joe and Colby and other staff members from Royal Subaru drove in on their "Subaru Sleigh" and like Santa Claus himself, they distributed boxes and boxes of warm blankets and care kits to our cancer patients. These items provide comfort for our patients during their cancer journey/battle, and lets them know that they are being thought of and cared about. When going through cancer treatments, patients tend to be cold/chilly. They sometimes need special lotions and creams and lip balm. All of these comfort items cost money, and sometimes our patients do not have the means to purchase these "little extras". We want our patients to be able to focus on their health and not on the financial challenges that often accompany a cancer diagnosis. Royal Subaru shared their love and care for our patients, as they have done in the past. Guthrie's Cortland Memorial Foundation Director, Sheila Ossit, was there to receive the delivery along with the President and CEO of Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, Jennifer Yartym. Staff and nurses helped to bring the boxes into the Cancer Center, and it truly felt like Christmas. It was June, but it felt like Christmas Day. Royal Subaru shares their love all year long, and we are grateful. Thank you for spreading that Christmas Spirit throughout the year, and for sharing your love with us...and our cancer patients.
Royal community support! - Juli Q
Our school PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) depends on fundraisers and community support to fulfill our budget each year. Our PTO provides extra opportunities that aren't able to fit into the school budget including field trips, fun class and school activities, and celebrations. Each year, Royal Subaru, an amazing local community partner, seeks to donate to our PTO. Not only do they share their funds, they share their joy and love with our school community. Each year, Royal Subaru staffers Colby Reagan and Jeromy Bushey come to our school to present us with a check and to share their uplifting words of encouragement and motivation with our students. We are so thankful for Royal Subaru and their royal support of our school community!
Meals on Meals, not just the meal, but the connection - Carrie K
Meet, Ted. Ted is an 88 year old male in our Home Delivered Meals, Meals on Wheels program. Since losing his wife recently, Mr. Ted now lives alone. The Meals on Wheels program, with assistance from Subaru Share the Love funds given by Royal Subaru locally, provides meals for home-bound older adults, Monday-Friday here in Cortland County. The meals are not only appetizing, but nutritionally planned and approved by our registered dietician to ensure proper nutritional needs for older adults are being maintained. Along with the meal service, clients in the Meals on Wheels program are given a daily "well check" making sure that the person is doing ok. In the event that a client is not able to receive their meal, the Office for Aging program staff provide support, contacting emergency contacts provided by the adult, to ensure the safety and well-being of the participant. Mr. Ted, is extremely grateful to have his daily contact with his driver Jamie. "My family members live many miles from here, and having human contact 5 days a week is extremely important since losing my wife. Jamie and I even have become personal friends. He is an outstanding and caring individual." With the continued support of Subaru Share the Love and Royal Subaru, the Cortland County Office for Aging can continue vital programs such as our Meals on Wheels, not only for the food, but the human connections involved and created. Thank you Share the Love and Royal Subaru!
Wickwire Pool - Andrea P
Our town is home to Wickwire Pool, a community pool where thousands of people have learned to swim and visit during the summer to cool down. It was opened to the public on July 13, 1946 with the purpose of providing a free pool for all to enjoy. Over the past few summers there has been an increase in incidents related to the safety and well-being of our visitors; fighting, not following rules, being disruptive, and lifeguards being threatened. When the pool closed for the season in August 2023 Youth Bureau administrators, advisory board members, and city officials brainstormed ways to hold patrons accountable but keep the pool open to the public. A membership and ID card system was established. The equipment was purchased, and the new procedures were announced in early February of this year. An online membership would have to be completed with a $5 cost for the ID card. The $5 cost set our community into an uproar. Thousands of people commented on Facebook distraught by the $5 fee and keeping the pool a public pool. When Joe and Colby from Royal Subaru saw the post they called me right up asking what they could do to cover the cost of the ID cards for the summer. Joe and his wife raised their son and daughter in Cortland and both spent many years at Wickwire Pool during the summer, so they know how important the pool is to our community. With the help of Royal Subaru, there will be no charge for the ID cards for the Wickwire Pool membership. Joe and Colby understand the importance of the pool and want to ensure every child is able to swim regardless of financial ability. They support our community, youth, and our department throughout the year, and this is a great example of what it means to put your community first and ensure every person is able to experience what his children did growing up. Word has it, Joe and Colby will race to open the pool for the summer.
Sharing Love in Shades of Pink! - Sheila O
Joe Reagan and Colby Reagan from Royal Subaru stopped by the Renzi Cancer Center in November of 2023 to present the Cortland Memorial Foundation with a check for $2000 from their October Breast Cancer Awareness promotion. These funds will go to the Nicholas Renzi Cancer Care Fund and will help Cancer Patients who need financial assistance. The funds also help with comfort items, gas cards for those who can't afford to travel to and from the facility for their treatments, as well as blankets, and other needed items that are not always covered by insurance. We are so grateful to Royal Subaru and the "Pink Love" they share to support our Breast Cancer patients.
Cortland Memorial Foundation/Guthrie Cortland Medical Center Feel the Love from Royal Subaru - Sheila O
Cortland Memorial Foundation (CMF) supports Guthrie Cortland Medical Center (GCMC) with health care advancements, leading-edge medical equipment, new programs, technology and enhancement of our existing services. Royal Subaru and Reagan Family have been strong supporters of CMF/GCMC for many years. In September of 2023, CMF honored Royal Subaru and Reagan Family for their compassionate care and leadership support of GCMC, CMF, and the Renzi Cancer Center. The Royal Subaru has consistently given to CMF since 1993. They have sponsored fundraising events, and generously supported the building of our Renzi Cancer Center. They have partnered with Subaru Loves to Care program and worked with Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to spread love, hope and warmth to our cancer patients, and they have consistently given to the Nick Renzi Cancer Care Fund--a fund that is used to purchase small equipment, educational materials for oncology patients, as well as comfort items for cancer patients (blankets, gas cards, financial assistance for uninsured and under-insured patients and other recovery-related expenses). Royal Subaru has made it clear that they want patients from our community to focus on their health and well-being and NOT on the financial burden and expenses related to their diagnosis. We were proud and thrilled to honor Royal Subaru at the Harvest of Gold community event. It gave us an opportunity to publicly thank them for their many years of loving us and loving our patients through their health crisis and needs. We are so grateful for the love and care they give.
Royal Purple Tiger Pride at Randall - Juli Q
Our school is a wonderful school, but our community has been hit hard by the economic challenges that upstate NY has been feeling the past few years. Our school district budget was defeated last year, which resulted in multiple instructional and non-instructional positions being eliminated. Many extra activities and events that are a part of what makes our school a fun place to learn and grow cost money, and we simply can't afford those when our community is struggling financially. Our school's PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) works hard to fund raise to provide funds for field trips, celebrations, events, and refreshments. Some of the events our Parent-Teacher Organization supports may be the only time our students ever have this life experience. These include but aren't limited to going to the movies (5th and 6th grade students hugged staff and said thank you, they had never been to a movie theater before), going to see a college basketball game at the Syracuse Dome (most students had never been to the Dome), and having a glow in the dark dance in our gym. Although our PTO diligently fund raises, it can be very difficult to raise the money necessary. Each year, Royal Motor Company in our Cortland, NY community seeks us out at Randall Middle School to provide a donation. They are true community partners who understand the benefit of supporting our local schools and our students. The even better part is that Royal Motor Company doesn't just send a check in the mail. Each year they come to a school assembly in person and present the check so our students can see what local philanthropy looks like. Each year when presenting the check, they share a positive message with our students about how important education is and being a positive influence on others in our community. Royal doesn't just limit their donation to our school PTO, they also donate thousands of dollars to other schools and organizations in our community. I hope you will join me in recognizing Royal Motor Company and their love promise to our Cortland, NY schools to support the students in our community. We are the Cortland Purple Tigers, and we have Royal Purple Tiger Pride when we think of Royal Motor Company and their positive impact!
